Infection and Resistance in the Blood-Inhabiting Protozoa

Abstract
A Harvey Lecture emphasizing the value of certain protozoa (particularly tryp-anosomes and malarial organisms) as material for analysis of certain fundamental immunological problems,[long dash]in particular the effects of host resistance on parasites and the humoral and cellular basis of immunity. By way of illustration, 2 infections, Trypanosoma lewisi in rats and Plasmodium cathemerium in canaries, are reviewed in detail, with especial reference to immunological and histological responses.
