Abstract
Iodine set free by the thyroid gland during its cultivation in the Lindbergh pump was recovered in the medium in 2 forms: that precipitation with the globulins of the medium; that in the globulin- free and protein-free filtrate. Apparently the latter arises as a result of thyroid activity decomposing the thyroglobulin molecule. It could not be obtained on in vitro hydrolysis of thyroglobulin. Keywords
