USE OF MEMBRANE FILTERS IN THE MEASUREMENT OF BIOLOGICAL INCORPORATION OF RADIOACTIVE ISOTOPES

Abstract
Incorporation of an isotopically labeled compound into cells may be estimated conveniently and accurately by collecting an aliquot sample of the cells on a 1-inch membrane filter. The filter with cells is washed, dried, and introduced into a gas-flow counter. The method should be applicable also to particulate cell-free preparations.
