A modified terminology for angiosperm leaf architecture

Abstract
A modified terminology for describing leaf architecture is presented, which incorporates lamina development and gives greater emphasis to the patterns formed by groups of venation elements than to their size. Leaf architecture is described using a hierarchy of venation “elements”, which are grouped into “patterns”, which are located in “zones” and “segments” of the leaf lamina.Keywords
