Abstract
Paper chromatography was employed to demonstrate the liberation of large amts. of histamine in a high percentage of dogs undergoing anaphylactic and trypsin shock. The chromatographic method of demonstrating histamine in blood samples is described in detail. Peptone when injd. into dogs in sufficient amts. to produce shock interfered with the method but could be shown to liberate histamine after addition to rabbit blood (in vitro). Keywords
