Abstract
With the very high level of local government activity in Scandinavia the role of local organisations, movements etc. becomes crucial. Very little research has been done to evaluate the importance of ‘organised politicisation’ at the local level, with some notable exceptions analysed in the article. Three rather different versions of local corporatism are evaluated in the light of results from a major research project covering local organisations, parties, local councils, and other agencies in Danish local politics. Local corporatism is rejected as a useful, general concept, but it is considered useful in the attempt to construct a new framework including central-local, local and spatial relations. Keywords
