Abstract
AT present a wide variety of relatively simple tests areavailable for the detection of protein in urine. These tests are all based on the precipitation of the protein by a variety of agents, including heat, nitric acid, sulfosalicylic acid, picric acid, naphthalene sulfonic acid and magnesium sulfate. An estimation of the concentration of protein is usually made by evaluation of the amount of precipitate formed and is expressed in terms of + to + + + +. Standards have been described1 with which one might compare the turbidity of the protein precipitate of an unknown urine to determine the protein . . .Keywords
