Abstract
Presentation of CaseA sixty-seven-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of edema of the legs.One year previously he was admitted to another hospital after a seizure; pneumonia developed, with a slow recovery. Nine months before admission ankle edema occurred, and digitalis and chlorthalidone (Hygroton) were begun and continued to the time of entry. Because of weakness of the legs he remained in bed and chair in a nursing home during the next six months.
