Abstract
Cholic acid was found to form crystalline inclusion compounds with various hydrocarbons and related compounds. Some alcohols do not form inclusion crystals at all, but serve as solvents. The crystal structure of a 1 : 1 inclusion compound of cholic acid with benzene was determined. Comparative studies on inclusion behaviors of cholic acid and deoxycholic acid are now possible. Keywords
