Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine if the present training in most business communication courses is providing for the needs of busi ness. An analysis of responses to a questionnaire provided detailed findings on the nature and means of managers' written communication. The ques tionnaires were completed by low-, middle-, and upper-level managers in the private sector. A comparison of their responses by level in the organi zation provided some additional implications. These implications and some recommendations for use are presented.
