Abstract
The first part of the paper deals with the volcanic complex of the Limon plateau in the upper Auvergne region, France. Successive eruptions of Miocene basalts, andesites and their breccias, phonolites, and finally Pliocene basalts took place. A new volcanic center has been located in the region. The second part concerns Pleistocene glaciation in the region and its effect on drainage, particularly on the course and profile of the Dordogne.
