Abstract
The subcellular regulation [mitochondria, sarcolemma, sarcoplasmic reticulum] of Ca movements in the myocardium and the interaction of Ca with cardiac contractile proteins were discussed. Pharmacologically active agents [ouabain, strophanthidin, digitalis glycosides, propranolol, quinidine, lidocaine, procainamide, sodium pentobarbital, chloroform, verapamil halothane] which influence myocardial function through their effect on 1 or more cellular organelles were described. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
