Abstract
To the Editor: Coronary-artery dissection is a rare complication of cardiac catheterization and is associated with morbidity and mortality.1 2 3 4 We report a case of extensive acute left-coronary-artery dissection treated with intracoronary streptokinase, with good results.A 48-year-old man referred for progressive angina unresponsive to medical management underwent cardiac catheterization according to standard Judkins technique through the right femoral vessels. After femoral-artery cannulation the patient was given 2000 units of intravenous heparin. He underwent uneventful left ventriculography and selective catheterization of the right coronary artery. Subsequently, an 8 French left No. 4 Judkins catheter was readily placed in the left main . . .Keywords
