Abstract
Mitochondria supernatant of rat liver homogenate is dialyzed against an equal volume of the medium. The dialysate, SF, stabilizes cytoplasmic nucleoproteins, i.e., the ultracentrifugal boundaries are unchanged. The nucleoproteins are sedimented at 105,000 g for 3 hrs. from rat liver mitochondria supernatants in 0.88 [image] sucrose which have been treated with Na desoxycholate at pH 8.3 in order to disrupt the microsome structure. SF is equally effective when prepared in 0.88 [image] sucrose, H2O or veronal-chloride buffer and withstands lyophilization. In the presence of SF, nucleoproteins may be resedimented, dialyzed and analyzed electrophoretically. Keywords
