Electrical impedance imaging

Abstract
Electrical impedance imaging is introduced on a descriptive and historical basis. The physical situation to which it applies is identified, and its representation as mathematical equations is stated. Emphasis is made of the assumptions in the derivation and solution of the equations. Techniques for synthesising data are outlined and the practical problems of measuring data are covered. Methods of impedance imaging are reviewed and the quality of images they yield is discussed. Some medical applications for impedance imaging are given. Worthwhile approaches for further research are suggested.
