Abstract
Spectroscopy of emitted radiation following single-electron capture for 3-keV/u ions on shows state-selective capture into the energy levels on the ion. We report a relative measurement of transitions in Al VIII for Å, and a multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock calculation of energy in levels in Al VIII is used to interpret the observed transitions.
