Abstract
With certain variations, the ossification of the scapula corre-sponds to the perichondral type of the tubular bones. Its lateral triangle represents a primitive diaphysis. The main ossification axis is oblique and runs from the collum to the vertebral border, fanning out from the inferior angle to the declive of the spine. Thus the collum and the vertebral border with the inferior angle are to be considered as epiphyses to the main body of the scapula. The spine and the surpraspinal do not exist in the cartilaginous model. They are secondary formations composed each of several parst which appear in the course of the ossification. The acromion and the coracoid, present in the cartilaginous model from the beginning, have nevertheless an individual rhythm of growth and ossification, which differs from the main body. Keywords
