Abstract
We applied the G suit to ten patients with severe pelvic trauma. It was left in place for 24 to 48 hours. In patients where laparotomy was necessary, it was applied immediately postoperatively. Mechanical ventilation was used in all patients. Blisters of the skin developed in two. In contrast with our earlier experience with comparable patients without use of the G suit, we found that the G suit decreased hemorrhage and contributed to the restoration of blood pressure. Keywords
