Abstract
The 60-MHz and 100-MHz proton spectra of some oxymercurials derived from ethylene and propylene have been examined. Such spectra, contrary to other reports, provide no evidence for the existence of the mercurinium ion in detectable amounts. A more plausible interpretation of the spectra is presented. Keywords
