Abstract
A method of determining blood urea requiring only 0.25 cc. of blood is descr. The urea is determined gaso-metrically by the hypobromite reaction as applied by Van Slyke and Kugel. The determination is sufficiently accurate to be used for urea clearance measurements in infants and children. An apparatus for collecting urine from infants and noting the time of collection is described. The urine collecting apparatus is for use in determining urea clearances in infants.
