Staphylococcal Infections in Hospitals

Abstract
THE past decade and a half has seen the problem of staphylococcal infections in hospitals grow into one of the major challenges confronting contemporary medicine. Many approaches have been and are being sought to curb the progress of the parasite among medical and surgical patients, newborn infants and hospital personnel, and to forestall its dissemination into the community at large. This review proposes to present these approaches in relation to the various factors believed to play a part in the epidemiology of staphylococcal infections.
