Determination of vitamin K by the curative blood-clotting method

Abstract
The curative blood-clotting method for the detn. of vit. K was revised. A tissue extract of constant clotting power was provided and its activity measd. against the plasma of a series of normal chicks. As standard substance for vit. K a dried spinach containing 500 units per gm. was used. By means of this substance a reference curve was constructed which under favorable conditions enabled detns. to be made with an error of about 40%.
