Abstract
The theory of defect dragging is extended to describe several distinct physical situations: the internal friction maximum due to discrete dissipative dragged defects or due to defects considered to be uniformly spread along a dislocation line, the effects of an elastic restoring force on these defects, and the effects of the variation of the dragging coefficient, particularly with temperature to yield a relaxation-type peak. Keywords
