Abstract
Dichloromethyl carbonates, easily available upon treatment alcohols with dichloromethyl chloroformate, react with various amines to give carbamates in high yield under mild conditions. Extension of the reaction for the synthesis of oxazolones from 2-aminoalcohols is also demostrated. Keywords
