Abstract
The role of hydrogen bonding in the determination of the dynamical properties of liquids is investigated by a computer simulation of HF, and compared with water. Sound dispersion is found to be much smaller and interpretable in terms of the viscoelastic approximation. Some dynamical solidlike features are found even in this liquid and interpreted in terms of localized motions of molecules along topological chains present in the liquid. The present investigation answers some relevant questions concerning the dynamical behavior of associated liquids. Keywords
