Investigations of the effect of path inclination on multipath fading caused by super-refractive layers and ducts, based on the data collected from various LOS links over the Indian subcontinent are reported. It is observed that as the path inclination increases, deep fades caused by layers and ducts get reduced. In regions where layers and ducts prevail for a considerable percentage of time, the design of LOS links should incorporate the concept of path inclination to overcome fading.
