Abstract
A simple method for detecting similarities in sequences is described. It is used: To provide similarity measures for classifying 25 cytochromes by their amino acid sequences, to detect repetitions in the amino acid sequences of various proteins, to detect regions of possible base‐pairing in the nucleotide sequence of a nuclei acid. Keywords
