Abstract
Carteria wettsteinii Schiller (1913) has been isolated from Golfo di Napoli and investigated by means of electron microscopy which revealed micro-anatomical features characteristic of the genus Tetraselmis. The species is commonly present in Golfo di Napoli during summer with cell numbers 102–106 cells-litre−1, occasionally producing blooms of 107 cells·litre−1.Keywords
