Abstract
Ear drops are commonly used for otitis externa, for boils in the ear and for middle ear infection. They may contain, singly or combined, antibiotics, fungicides, antiseptics, local anaesthetics, corticosteroids, hygroscopic substances, vasoconstrictors, detergents or astringents. Which of these substances are of clinical value in ear drops, and how should they be used? Keywords
