Abstract
The electronic absorption spectra of some thioamides, dithiocarbamic esters, thioureas and one thioncarbamic ester are recorded in a hydrocarbon, diethyl ether, ethanol and concentrated sulphuric acid as solvents. The bands are classified according to their intensities and solvent effects. It is shown that the assignment of Koch must be reversed. The spectra of substituted thioureas are discussed in relation to their spatial structures.
