Difficulties in Follow-Up of Rape Victims

Abstract
This article considers problems related to follow-up counseling of rape victims. These problems include: the victim’s defenses of denial and suppression; the characteristics of some women who are particularly vulnerable to rape; the response of some women to change their phone numbers and addresses; and anger at the assailant being projected onto the “assault” of follow-up.
