Abstract
Though strong cycle changes affect some women it is anti‐woman to classify these shifts as an illness. Labeling PMS as illness is political; it is a way to deny normalcy to cycle changes. There is a critique of Dalton's anti‐feminist views of women and of the medical model used by one of the progesterone dispensing clinics. Alternative treatments are mentioned with a more detailed look at the possible role of self‐help groups, based on the feminist consciousness‐raising group model, to validate women's experiences and to increase their self‐esteem. Keywords
