Abstract
This paper proposes a protocol independent DynamicAddressing scheme for Wireless Media AccessProtocols, and discusses related systems and performanceissues.Dynamic Addressing allows spatial and temporalreuse of MAC addresses, thereby reducing the addresssize by a factor of 8. This reduces the control overheadin a MACAW [2] style protocol by 30% to 70%,and produces an overall performance improvement of5% to 33%. Dynamic Addressing also serves as an enablingtechnology for two important...Keywords
