DIE CHEMISCHE VERSCHIEBUNG DES ZWEIFACHKOORDINIERTEN PHOSPHORS, I1

Abstract
δ 31P (and J PP, where occurring) of two-coordinate phosphorus compounds are compiled and arranged according to the atoms neighbouring the phosphorus. Low field shifts are clearly associated with a phosphenium type, high field shifts with a phosphide type phosphorus. The influence of the two substituents is roughly additive. With decreasing ability of the “doubly bonded” substituent to delocalize electrons from the phosphorus δ 31P shifts to higher field; parallels to δ 13C and δ 77Se are shown. 1 J PP correlates well with the supposed bond order between the two-coordinate phosphorus and the two-, three- and four-coordinate phosphorus connected to it. Characteristic ranges of δ 31P and 1 J PP can be associated with the different types of twocoordinate phosphorus compounds.
