Abstract
The paper describes a method of digital signal processing for extracting and isolating targets in the return signal of an FMCW radar. Digital filtering of the frequency spectrum of the return signal is followed by nonlinear optimisation to detect the presence of multiple targets amid clutter. Results using a practical radar show that the method gives enhanced detection of weak return signals.Keywords
