Abstract
A laboratory method for continuous rearing of Synanthedon pictipes (Grote & Robinson) is described. Mating was accomplished in a specially designed chamber. After mating, females were placed in individual oviposition cups for 0 days. Eggs produced were transferred to larval rearing trays containing small apples. Adult emergence began about 40 days after egg hatch. Observations on the biology of the insect and preliminary results obtained with a semisynthetic diet are reported. Keywords
