Coronary and systemic haemodynamic effects of bretylium in the intact unanaesthetized dog

Abstract
Bretylium, 5 mg/kg, administered to anaesthetized dogs resulted in a sharp increase in coronary blood flow with a parallel increase in systemic arterial pressure. After depletion of endogenous catecholamines with reserpine, bretylium administration produced a significant increase in coronary vascular resistance and no increase in coronary blood flow.
