Walk-off free ultrafast nonlinear optical loop mirror composed of a highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber for demultiplexing 320 Gbit/s TDM signals

Abstract
We demonstrate a 320 Gbit/s TDM signals to 10 Gbit/s demultiplexing by using a walk-off free, ultrafast nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). The NOLM consists of a 100 m long highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber (HNL-DSF). By using a HNL-DSF, the NOLM can be compact, resulting in highly stable and walk-off free operation.
