Abstract
A program has been devised to compute theoretical seismograms of Rayleigh waves for a given epicenter and a given station entirely automatically on an electronic computer. The earth's surface is divided into three regions; continents, Pacific Ocean, and oceans other than the Pacific. Allowance can be made for differences in structure in these regions. This simple division seems satisfactory at present for Rayleigh waves of periods longer than 35 sec. Keywords
