Abstract
Shock loading experiments were carried out on arc-melted Nb3Si over the pressure range 50–110 GPa using a two-stage light gas gun. T c for the superconducting phase observed in specimens subjected to shock was 18 K and -(dH c2/dT) was 1.23 tesla/K. The observed high-T c phase is most probably A-15 Nb3Si transformed from the tetragonal Nb3Si (Ti3P type) phase during shock loading. Keywords
