Abstract
With the more frequent use of the gynecological laparoscopy in recent years, there has been a proportionate increase in complications. For, as with all operative treatments, laparoscopy has characteristic complications associated with it. Unfortunately, they are not known well enough in detail. Detailed communications on possible complications have been published in the literature on internal medicine, but not in gynecological literature. For this reason, an attempt is made to compile a record of the typical complications of gynecological laparoscopy. Information has been obtained from the work of many experts, from the literature, from personal conversations, and from individual experiences in more than 3,500 laparoscopies. The causes and results of the complications are analyzed, and finally suitable measures for avoiding and controlling complications are proposed to the surgeon. Since the large majority of incidents occur while the method is being learned, they are viewed as “beginning difficulties”. Most complications, however, can be avoided through strict adherence to indications, good manual dexterity, thorough mastery of the technique, the use of modern instruments, and a good anesthesia. 1 Herrn Prof. K.
