Totally integrated erbium fibre soliton laser pumped by laser diode

Abstract

The generation of soliton pulses of less than 3 ps duration at 1.56μm from a mode-locked erbium-doped fibre laser pumped by a semiconductor laser is reported. The experimental configuration is a simple totally integrated ring laser.
