Abstract
A new method is described for aortography using a long 22 gauge needle guide to locate the aortic lumen and subsequently advance a 4-F shepherd''s crook catheter with multiple side holes over the 22 gauge cannula into the aorta. This modification improves the safety and the success rate of the present translumbar technique and makes the translumbar approach more accpetable for those who have previously preferred the transfemoral or transaxillary approach in patients with severe atherosclerosis. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
