Exact vacuum solutions of Einstein’s equation from linearized solutions

Abstract
It is proved that if (M,g a b ) is an exact vacuum solution of Einstein’s equation,l a a null vector field and if l a l b satisfies the linearized equation on background (M,g a b ), then g a b +l a l b is an exact vacuum solution. Applications to the search for asymptotically flat spacetimes are discussed.Keywords
