Abstract
The utility of diode-array detection (DAD) combined with capillary electrophoresis for the separation and rapid monitoring of products and intermediate compounds formed during the oxidation of L-tyrosine and L-dopa is demonstrated. These compounds were separated within 3 min using a fused-silica capillary (20 cm × 50 µm id), a high operating voltage and a run buffer of 0.025 M borate buffer of pH 9.05. DAD was used to facilitate the simultaneous monitoring of all the compounds formed and permit peak assignment confirmation by assessing their individual absorbance spectra. Keywords
