Abstract
The vibronic Hamiltonian describing the resonance interaction between the doubly degenerate electronic states of two identical molecules is derived. The totally symmetric and Jahn—Teller active vibrations of each molecule are simultaneously coupled with electronic motions by the resonance interaction and are separable from each other only in limiting cases. Keywords
