Abstract
A tuberculin prepared from Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain BCG was tested on 987 subjects. Concurrent tests were made on these same subjects with old tuberculin (OT) or PPD. It was found that BCG tuberculin detected tuberculin sensitivity in cases of active and inactive tuberculosis and that dose for dose was a more sensitive indicator of tuberculin allergy than OT. Most significantly it was a much more sensitive index of tuberculin conversion in BCG vaccinated persons than the same dose or OT.Keywords
