Abstract
Of 62 compounds tested topically against pupae of Stomoxys calcitrans (L.) for morphogenetic activity (expressed by production of pupal-adult intermediates), 6 were highly active at a dose of 10 ng, Five of the 6 were epoxides of arylterpenoid compounds with a 9-carbon backbone, and 1 was an aryl carbamate N-substituted by an 8-carbon epoxide. The 6 compounds had either no or para substituents on the phenyl ring. Substitutions made at the meta and ortho position, reduced the morphogenetic activity. Keywords
