Abstract
A procedure for the isolation and crystallization of ferritin from tuna fish spleen is described and some of the physicochemical properties of this ferritin are reported. The method used for this purification were the combination of trypsin [EC 3.4.4.4] digestion, acetone treatment and DEAE-cellulose column-chromatography. This ferritin contained less iron and phosphorus than horse ferritin's. Isoelectric point was pH 4.3. The contents of proline, methionine and isoleucine were different from those of horse ferritin. Keywords
