Abstract
Summary The author wishes to emphasize that morbus Bechterew involves much more than the changes in the ileosacral joints and the columna and that it is a more generalized disease, which is indicated by Bechterew's (and later) neuro-anatomical investigations, by the iridocyclitides, the aorta diseases, etc. To that extent, this is something which may be said to apply also to rheumatoid polyarthritis and other “collagenous” diseases.
